My Project Planner.

Been a while, hasn't it? I haven't posted any progress updates about the Pride and Prejudice socks, because I unfortunately haven't been very inspired to knit and I was actually out of the country for the better part of last week, but I figured I may as well post a picture of my project planner.

This is what the cover looks like:

And this is what the inside looks like:

It's basically just an A5 size binder with a photo collage that I had printed on sticker paper. I used laminated craft paper to make the dividers and also some washi tape for decorative purposes. I have little sheets for each project which include the name of the pattern, where I got it from, when I started the project, when I ended the project and which yarn(s) I used. As it stands, I have divided the sheets into four: 1) projects which I am currently working on, 2) projects which I have planned and for which I have the yarn(s) and the pattern, 3) finished projects, 4) projects which have caught my eye and which I might do.

So there you have it. Hopefully I'll be able to report some more progress next time!

State of the Project: Pride and Prejudice socks III

I unfortunately have not exactly made much headway with the socks since my last update. I finished the heels and am now working on the feet and as gorgeous as the socks are, I'm afraid I am actually getting a bit tired of them. Plus, my fingers are hurting for one reason or another. Somehow these socks are taking more time to make than the jacket!

Better late than never :-)

Last night I finally got myself together and finished this little Stroll in the Park set from Drops, which I made for a dear friend of mine who's expecting. I actually finished knitting this set in January, but it took me until yesterday to grab a needle and hide the loose ends and sew on the buttons and also to take some yarn and make the twined string for the shorts because I'm lazy and finishing the project is the hardest/most annoying bit for me. I quite like how it turned out, even though there should have been one more purled row on the yoke and I made one extra buttonhole and I am not entirely sure about the kitty I used for the top button.

Well, crap.

Just as I finished one sweater (well, okay, technically cardigan) and was thinking about what to do with the leftover colourful yarns, I happened on this pattern for an Icelandic sweater on Ravelry. And now I really want to make it! But it would require buying more yarn to complete the garment and I also still have some works in progress that need finishing and the Winter Escape cardigan I made is also pretty Nordic inspired and how many warm clothes does a person need anyway?

State of the Project: Pride and Prejudice socks II

I am happy to report that I have finished the leg parts for both socks. It was a bit fiddly, but I think the result is quite pretty. I just hope that there will be enough ombre yarn left for the rest of the socks - I bought one skein of 50 grams and now have 8 grams of yarn left for each.

Compare and contrast: Pride and Prejudice socks in two different colours.

As I mentioned before, I started hating the colour combo of fall orange and peacock blue-green-teal. It made sense in my head as I was ordering the yarns, because they are opposites on the colour wheel, but the peacock colour simply does not pop against the orange. White is obviously a better background colour and I almost wish I hadn't bought the new ombre yarn and just used the one I had, but hey ho.

I have another relatively intricate pattern in mind, for which I could use the yarn. I just have to wait for the book to come out in these parts :-)
